What is the work of a spiritual leader?

This is from Hebrews 13...

The work of a "spiritual leader" is not just preaching/teaching, but also "watching over" people's souls—which seems to imply a fairly close relationship.

This is from 1 Peter 5:2-3...
The work of a spiritual leader is not just administrating, but also caring for the flock of God—which seems to imply a fairly close relationship.

This is from Ephesians 4:11-12...
The work of a spiritual leader is not just leading an organization, but also equipping God's people to do God's workwhich seems to imply a fairly close relationship.

This is from 1 Corinthians 4:20...
The work of a spiritual leader is not justalking to people about how God wants us to live, but also living by God's power with otherswhich seems to imply a fairly close relationship.

I could go on, but let me say this:
It's so easy to miss the high priority Jesus and his first followers gave to relationships (oikos).

Ponder this:
If we miss the high priority Jesus and his first followers gave to meaningful relationships, we end up misdefining what it means to be a spiritual leader.

I dare you to explore this question with someone:
Are you so busy preaching, administrating, leading, and talking that you're missing the simplicity and transformational power of following Jesus with others?

Want to move toward a Jesus-like leadership?
